I'm turning 60.

I like Tassie/lutruwita

I like wild swimming.

I like bushwalking.

And I like to surf when the conditions are sweet.

And it's funner with friends.

So I've designed a road trip to mash them.

It'll be good.

the wild west (tarkine/takayna), Cradle Mountain and the mild east, finishing in Launceston for a Saturday night dinner.
a wild swim everyday (whenever possible)
some iconic Tassie walks (Just day packs, no overnighting. Might be some moderate challenges but there will always be options for easier walks)
surf (if conditions are good)
and the driving will be a highlight ... some classic Tassie roads less travelled

Invitation:

Come for all of it or bits of it. (The west bit or the east bit would work, or just come for the weekend in Launceston at the end) Come on your own or with a partner or friend. Make up a carload or join someone else's.

Timing:

Early Sept, before the school holidays. We'll be on the Sept 1st Spirit of Tasmania sailing from Geelong to Devonport, so in Tassie Sept 2nd to 10th. But you could fly to Launceston or Burnie/Wynyard ...

Organisation:

Everyone responsible for their own travel and accommodation. Do it the same as us, or vary it ... up to you.

Meals:

We'll do a finale celebration dinner in Launceston at Grain (at the Silos), but the rest will be pubs and cafes.

Accommodation:

It's an outdoor adventure and accommodation is scarce in some places, so we've opted for caravan park cabins. Basic. Links to the accommodation we've booked is below under the map. In some cases there will be more comfortable options if you'd prefer.

Comfort:

As the Nordics say, "There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing." It's September. It's Tassie. Embrace it.
